Nicol of Skene was tasked with creating and constructing a unique Celtic Maze design for the Balmoral estate. The project, envisioned to last for centuries, presented a number of challenges, including limited site access and meticulously sculpting the intricate curves of the Celtic design. Nicol of Skene overcame these obstacles with their expertise in civil engineering and advanced equipment.

The Balmoral Celtic Maze has been met with exceptional feedback from various individuals involved in the project. The Sandringham head gardener praised the Nicol of Skene team, stating, "just wanted to share with you that on both visits to Balmoral, our guys have had only praise for the skills and energy of the Nicol Team, with special thanks to Keith Burnett for his personal input over the last few months in helping to deliver a piece of work we’re all very proud of. The whole site looks fantastic!"
Kirsty, the head gardener at Balmoral, shared the Kings appreciation about the maze, saying, "The King was sitting in the Ballroom with the pipe band walking round the maze."
