As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of the workforce, Nicol of Skene is delighted to offer a work experience placement to Adam Kennedy, an enthusiastic participant of Barnardo’s Construction Course, to join our Small Works Team for a hands-on industry placement.

Adam Kennedy's placement takes place throughout July and August, where he is assisting the team on the high-profile Maze project at Balmoral Castle for His Majesty the King. During his time on-site, Adam is helping with general site labouring duties, gaining practical experience and insight into the construction industry.

Barnardo’s support young people to gain the skills they need to enter the world of work.

They offer a Construction Course which is an intensive stage 3 employability programme for young people aged 16 – 29 who are interested in a career in Construction.

It provides job ready people with the opportunity of developing their knowledge, skills, and experience in Construction to prepare them for the industry.

At Nicol of Skene, we recognise the importanceof supporting projects such as the Barnardo’s Construction Course and we actively offer industry experience to young people who are interested in working in the industry. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Barnardo’s in the future.
