Stuart Christie commenced his journey with Nicol of Skene back in December 1997, marking more than two decades of dedicated service. During his tenure, he has navigated various roles within the company, establishing himself as a valuable member of our team.

Starting as a laborer, Stuart quickly proved his versatility and capability. Over the years, he transitioned to operating heavy equipment, handling tasks such as driving a tipper and a HIAB. As he honed his skills, Stuart took on the role of testing water mains, contributing significantly to essential infrastructure projects. One of the standout memories in his career involves a hydro refurbishment project in Braemar Village, where he experienced the warmth and camaraderie of the local community.

In his current role as Water Chargehand, Stuart plays a crucial part in ensuring the integrity and functionality of water systems. He oversees critical tasks such as swabbing, testing water mains, and managing tie-in connections across a vast geographical expanse, stretching from Glasgow to Stornoway. Within the company, Lana in the office serves as his go-to contact, providing guidance and support.

Beyond his professional role, Stuart Christie boasts a diverse array of interests. In his youth, he dreamt of becoming a farmer, a far cry from his current role at Nicol of Skene. His sense of humor shines through his love for "The Inbetweeners," while his weekend indulgence is a hearty cooked breakfast. Notable personal achievements include passing his HGV test on the first try and completing the London Marathon in under four hours.

Outside of work, Stuart tends to his garden, supports Aberdeen FC, and enjoys cycling, dog walks, and '80s and '90s music, particularly Queen. A memorable anecdote involves breaking his ankle while playfully hiding from a friend after a pub visit. Stuart's cheerful disposition and zest for life make him a cherished member of the Nicol of Skene family.
