Meet our Apprentice!
Let us introduce Arlene, an 18-year-old Trainee Quantity Surveyor who is leaving a significant mark not only within our Commercial Team but also among our Operational Teams!
We asked Arlene what her apprenticeship role involves and what she has learned so far:
"My role involves assisting the QS team with commercial duties such as preparing applications, attending site, and identifying changes within jobs. I've already learned so much, including the processes involved in Quantity Surveying as well as a better understanding of how works are carried out on site. I’m looking forward to going to RGU in September to start my Graduate Apprenticeship Degree."
Outside of work, Arlene enjoys netball, dog walks, and has a unique talent—playing both the piano and violin. She also finds enjoyment in attending summer shows with her family, where she came across Nicol's apprenticeship opportunities at the Black Isle Show.
With only a few months of service under her belt, we were delighted to see Arlene as a finalist in our first ever Employee Awards for the category ‘Rising Star’. It is easy to see why she has been deemed one to watch by our Management Team. We can’t wait to see how her career progresses at Nicol’s.
