Neil Alexander is Nicol of Skene’s longest serving employees and today he received his 25 years’ service award.
Neil is a plant operative and has had experience in many different aspects of the business, carrying out many different roles. He has worked in many of the company’s divisions, including Civil Engineering and Multi-Utilities, and currently, Neil, is working as part of the Nicol Directional Drilling team, operating the drilling rigs.
When Neil first began working for Nicol of Skene, the company was a very small, family run business. In the past 25 years of Neil’s employment, a lot of changes have taken place and the company has achieved significant growth. The company has expanded into different divisions and has carried out a vast range of projects varying in size and complexity.
Neil has become very settled in his 25 years of employment with the company. He shows great passion and motivation in his day to day work whilst enjoying having a laugh with his fellow colleagues on site. He states that throughout his time in the company he has “worked with a great bunch of people who make days at work enjoyable”. Neil always finds himself doing something different every day and has become a very versatile and valued employee in the company.
“I genuinely enjoy my job, and I have never found myself getting bored due to the variation of work I do at Nicol of Skene. I am always working on different projects and carrying out different tasks on site. Being happy in my employment after 25 years is a great achievement”.
