It's been all go at Nicol of Skene over the past few months! Here's a quick round up of what's been happening:

The new office is nearing completion with just a few finishing touches required before the staff can finally move in. Our contractors have installed all furniture, kitchen appliances, fire alarms and telephone systems and our dedicated Nicol of Skene civils squad have been incredibly busy during every spare minute laying slabs, topsoil and surfacing the car parks. At more than double the current office floor space everyone is incredibly excited to finally gain access!

We took delivery of our beautiful new Dancing Thistle artwork last month. If they look familiar then that's because until very recently they were on display at the entrance to Edinburgh Airport.
Standing at 4.5m tall and weighing in at 600kg, the thistles were created by Kev Paxton and his team at ArtFe - a small business located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Over 300 individual parts make up each thistle head and 400 hours of labour went into the completed structure. The sculpture consists of two thistles entwined together and are designed to move slightly in the wind, giving the impression they are dancing.

On Saturday 10th September Nicol of Skene held a Family Fun Day for all their Staff which included a BBQ, Bouncy Castles, Outdoor Games, Face Painting and a ‘Sponge Your Boss’ activity.
The Nicol of Skene workforce were invited to come a long with their partners and children to enjoy a day of family fun and to thank the team for another year of hard work and for everyone to receive a tour around the new office building. Through various fundraising events on the day everyone also managed to raise £1,122 for CLAN!
